TOMMY CRAIN
Live in Macon (2011)

Tommy Crain leaves us a great posthume record. The ex- Charlie Daniels Band guitarist already gave us a solo album with the Crosstown Allstars, Give It To Ya, in a swing blues soul funky style. This Live In Macon showa how gilfted are the Crosstown Allstars musicians, with new players such as Wet Willie's Jack Hall on bass guitar and the great Bob Jones on keyboards. Tommy Crain here share the guitar parts with Bob Rumer who already was present on the first record. Music, played in a real professional way, is focused on Funk and Soul, with some Stax sounds, and obviously Southern Rock Blues in the Allman way, with "Hot Lanta" and a long Dickey Betts "Jessica" covers, and Little Feat's "Spanish Moon". Best moments are on Wet Willie's "Everything That You Do" and their own "Give It To Ya" that makes us remind of this great guitarist who died too early.
